Going Places Card

My daughter starts university tomorrow. It seems like just yesterday we were getting all geared up for her first day of kindergarten (there may have been a tear or two, and they may or may not have been from mom!) and now she's all grown up and off on her next big adventure. To go along with her "welcome to University" present, I made her a card using the School Daze set that was released in the 99 Cent Store yesterday. I started by printing the sentiment right onto the top layer of white Bazzil cardstock using my new Epson Stylus Photo R2000 printer which I absolutely LOVE! It's so great to have a printer right in my studio, and one that was chosen specifically for its ability to print on thick materials as well as its amazing photo printing. Then I added the Globe from the School Daze set. Rather than cutting all the little pieces for the base out of different shades of brown cardstock, I cut them all from the same color and inked the edges to make them stand out. Once that was done I assembled the card and used dimensional adhesive to make the globe stand out a little. It's a simple card, but sometimes those are the best! :-)
